EMMITSBURG,
Md. – Hundreds of people gathered
at the Emmitsburg Community Park to take
in the sighes and tastes of a true old-fashioned
big top circus. Visitors had a chance
to take a pony ride, look at a giant snake,
pet an elephant, ride a camel or simply
chow down on classic circus food before
the big event.
At three o’clock everyone gathered
under the big top to watch a 90-minute
performance filled with feats of human
strength, talent and animal tricks. An
elegant trapeze routine, dazzling contortion
act and amusing canine revue mystified
wide-eyed children, as did many other
acts.

Ambulance
& Fire create Fire Corps
EMMITSBURG, Md. – Vigilant Hose Company and Emmitsburg
Ambulance have put their differences behind them and teamed
up to create an Fire/EMS Corps.
Vigilant Hose Company President Art Damuth said, “The
Fire Corps unit will be helpful friends to the department.
We have already had expressions of interest from the community,
and our members are excited to get this assistance.”
The Fire/EMS Corps creates opportunities to be friends of
the fire and EMS service companies in Emmitsburg and to give
back to the community. Members of the Fire/EMS Corps will
providing non-emergency assistance to Vigilant Hose Company
and Emmitsburg Ambulance Company. From information technology,

Emmitsburg Community Day coming EMMITSBURG,
Md. – For 25 years now, residents of Emmitsburg have
gathered to celebrate their community with fun, food and fireworks.
This year, the 25th Annual Emmitsburg Community Day will be
on June 30 with activities scheduled throughout the day.
“Our
theme this year is service and while its our 25th year of
doing this, we are trying to highlight, focus on and showcase
the other organizations that have given so much to the community,”
said Emmitsburg Lions Club President Joe Ritz.
To get the town in the mood for the celebration, the Emmitsburg
Community Chorus will sing patriotic songs and songs of yesteryear
